Resins & binders

Adhesives

Adhesive systems for every bond — from wood glue to hot-melt.

Adhesives are chosen by the bond they must make: the substrate, the working time and the stress the joint will see. We supply the raw materials behind the full range of adhesive systems — water-based wood glues, reactive epoxies and polyurethanes, flexible silicones and 100%-solid hot-melts.

Types & classifications

Polyvinyl acetate (PVAc / wood glue)

Water-based glue for woodworking, paper and crafts — easy clean-up and quick setting.

Epoxy

Two-part resin/hardener systems with one of the strongest, most rigid bonds — metal, glass, ceramics and heavy repairs.

Cyanoacrylate (super glue)

Incredibly fast, strong bonding for small fixes on plastics, rubber and metal — though the bond can be brittle.

Polyurethane

Highly versatile and expands as it cures — bonds almost anything, even damp wood, and resists moisture and weather.

Silicone

Stays rubber-flexible after curing — sealing gaps, windows, glass and plumbing.

Contact cement

Applied to both surfaces and joined once tacky — ideal for laminates, veneers and large areas.

Pressure-sensitive (PSA)

No cure: bonds on contact and pressure — the chemistry behind every tape and sticky note.

Hot-melt (HMA)

100%-solid thermoplastic with no water or solvents — melts, wets the substrate and bonds in seconds as it cools.
